On Sunday June 19th, Dave is going to be running for Christ Church at the Mersey Tunnel 10k.  Dave is part of a large number of people in our community making a real effort to raise money for the new centre.  Dave and his family have been coming to Christ Church since having their children christened here in 2010.  Dave is a key volunteer at the Foodbank and a regular at ‘Grub’s Up!’-our monthly men’s social!  When asked what it is he likes about the Christ Church community, he said ‘the people!’.  His big hope for the new centre is that we might meet new people by being able to offer more and better quality ways for people to engage with our community.

When asked what inspired him to do this, he said “I really wanted to take part in fundraising… [I] did it before at the York 10k” (raising money for Family Fund).  Running is a relatively new thing for Dave, he hadn’t run before taking on the race last year, but he has been hard at training doing Park Run just up the road at Croxteth Hall Park.  “Last time I did it in 1hr 12mins but I want to beat that this time”.  When asked if he liked running now, he said “it kills…but I love it!”
