Since January, the Christ Church team and Klas Hyllen architects have worked hard to consult widely on the design of the New Christ Church Community Centre to suit the needs and opportunities of the Norris Green community. Following consultation days in January and April, the Christ Church team have continued to gather support and ideas from the local community at both large events, such as the Norris Green Carnival and our big summer party, and in regular smaller conversations with those visiting or attending one of the activities at the centre.
With all the information gathered, the designs (see above) have now been put forward to Liverpool City Council for planning approval. Everybody’s input has been valuable and insightful, the design we now have is vastly different to what we imagined when we started the project, and we are extremely grateful to everyone who has given their time and thought into contributing to this project.
Pending a positive outcome from the planning process, the challenge now turns to securing funding to bring the project to completion. We are open to hearing from any individual or organisation that may be in a position to help us raise funds (however big or small) towards the project. For individuals and small donors, we have a giving page and a text service (text CCNG50 £1 -or any amount up to £10- to 70070) where you can easily and securely donate to the project.
Help us make this ambition a reality! And watch this space for further updates!
